Over 150 people joined the Double Angel Foundation November 15 for a holiday celebration extravaganza at the Inverness Hotel.
With the Double Angel Foundation ballfield project soon to be in the construction stages, this celebration was the final event before the fields begin to go up in full force.
As always, former Denver Broncos offensive lineman and current ESPN football analyst Mark Schlereth hosted the event in classy fashion.
Highlights of the party included a silent and live auction, dinner, dancing and live entertainment performed by the talented New Society. Keys were bought to open the case containing the $750 Double Angel pendant. Mark and Lee Brooks were the winners of the 14K yellow gold pendant.
The foundation raised nearly $12,000 for the ballfield project and continues each day to take one step closer to the dream.
Some of the hottest live auction items flew off the shelves and included travel packages with airfare to Bonita Springs, Fla. and Scottsdale, AZ., Denver Broncos autographed jerseys courtesy of future Hall-of-Famer John Elway and current quarterback Jake Plummer.
Top silent auction items included a variety of Denver Broncos signed paraphernalia, a family ski get-away at Red Hawk Lodge Condo at Keystone and a Taos, New Mexico vacation.
“The event was a tremendous success,” said executive director Ken Major. “We had a lot of great items and the hotel was just awesome. We were very pleased with how everything went.”
The foundation would like to express a special appreciation to those who made the 2003 holiday gathering a tremendous success. This includes Mark and Lisa Schlereth, Mike and Karen Dunkel, Mark and Lee Brooks, Laurel Jorgenson, the entire Inverness staff, and all those who donated items and attended the event.
